There’s no
doubt that composers Nadeem-Shravan took the line, “Ask and you shall receive”
seriously. The listeners asked for a hit, and that’s exactly what they received.
The song in question was Poochho Zara Poochho, from Raja Hindustani.
It was half-a-dozen minutes and a dozen seconds long.
Sameer penned the song, whose line, “Tumse dil lagaane ki sazaa hai” inspired a couple of other tracks – Mausam Ki Tarah Tum Bhi Badal Toh Na Jaoge, from Jaanwar (1999), and a portion of Pyaar Kar, from Humraaz (2002).
It was rendered by Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu.
