It wasn’t (Poorni)marvellous A(bhijee)t all

Of the five songs from Biwi No. 1 (1999) on this blog, its title track was the longest – it was seven minutes and 19 seconds long.

It was composed by the one and only Anu Malik, who was nominated in the Best Music category at the Filmfare Awards the following year.

Kasam se, the track, which was rendered by Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Poornima, was run-of-the-mill.

Sameer, who penned the track, probably wanted to convey that it wasn’t just imperative that all the husbands declare that their better halves are numero uno, but believe it too.
