Alka (Mehn)didn’t match Daler’s energy

It is sad but true that Alka Yagnik, who seemed to be content playing second fiddle to Daler Mehndi, was unable to match the joie de vivre that the latter didn’t have to try too hard to infuse into his rendition.

Having said that, their duet – Kudiyan Shehar Diyan – was the most popular track on the soundtrack of Arjun Pandit, which released in 1999.

Despite the mismatch behind the microphone, the song was, surprisingly, popular, and continues to be the highlight of the film.

Penned by Javed Akhtar, it was composed by Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen.
