There’s no
two ways about the fact that Yeh Dil Deewana, from Pardes, was
one of the most outstanding (So)numbers of the 1990s.
Of course, Mr Nigam, the lead singer, deserved the lion’s share of the credit for that.
But he was backed by a couple of vocalists who are fine singers in their own right – Hema Sardesai and Shankar Mahadevan.
The song, which was penned by Anand Bakshi and composed by Nadeem-Shravan, had a portion in English that went, “God saves the world, world saves the man, man saves the heart, heart saves love”.
