It was S(on)urely (Alt)afantastic track

Shapath, which released in 1997, was one of the ‘products’ churned out by Mithun’s (Chakraborty) Dream Factory, which was based in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, at that point.

The most popular song from the film was Ishq Aur Pyaar Ka Maza Lijiye.

Penned by Sameer, it was composed by Anand-Milind.

It was rendered by Altaf Raja, a qawwal who shot to fame with his debut album Tum Toh Thehre Pardesi, which released the same year as the film.

In fact, the song was picturised on him.

He was backed by the one and only Sonu Nigam.
