Jaaved didn’t keep Mum, bhai!

Bombay Boys, which released in 1998, wasn’t the typical Hindi film. In fact, it wasn’t even a Hindi film. It was an English film.

And there’s no two ways about the fact that the most popular track in the film was Mumbhai.

Kids growing up in the 1990s and 2000s would say it was the song that summed the city of Mumbai best, but boys (and girls), Bombay has been immortalised better in verse.

Jaaved Jaffrey and Kiran Kotrial penned the track, which the former sang.

It was composed by Ashutosh Phatak and Dhruv Ghanekar.
