It (A)was(th)indeed a (Ma)likable (A)number

By no means would it be incorrect to state that Chamma Chamma, the item number, was the highlight of China Gate, which released in 1998.

And there’s no doubt that the highlight of the track was its rendition, by Sapna Awasthi.

She was joined behind the microphone by none other than Anu Malik, who composed it too.

The track, which Sameer penned, contained the word paijaniya. I had to look up the meaning of the word. It means anklet.

It was used in Moulin Rouge!, the 2001 Australian-American film, which was directed by Baz Luhrmann.
