Dil Maaka
Dina – the
song from Dhaal (1997) – was the second Macarena-inspired track
composed by Anu Malik. And as if that weren’t enough, he rendered it too.
He was joined behind the microphone by Suneeta Rao.
Maaka is Konkani for “to me”, while Dina means “give”. Therefore, the song could be translated to, “Give me your heart”.
This Hinglish song was penned by Dev Kohli.
And it was as much an aural assault as Dil Le Le Lena – which was, interestingly, contrary to this one, because it could be translated to, “Take my heart” – was.
