So many
biggies released in 1996 that it wasn’t difficult to ignore the smaller films
whose songs vied with them for the listeners’ attention.
One such film was Yash, and the most popular song on its soundtrack, by far, was Subah Subah Jab Khidki Khole.
The song – which was dedicated to the baaju waali ladki (the girl next door) and had a line that went, “Hello, how are you?” – was rendered by Jojo. And it certainly wouldn’t be incorrect to state that he Na(than)i(e)led it.
Penned by Rajesh Johri, it was composed by Tabun Sutradhar.
