It certainly was (Paudw)alovely (Sa)number

Tu Pyaar Hai Kisi Aur Ka was the longest of the five tracks from Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin on this blog – it was six minutes and 48 seconds long.

I was a youngster when I first heard the song. At that point, I couldn’t help wonder how many men were being referred to in it.

But as I grew older, I realised it was a track that was worth playing on loop, because undoubtedly, Anuradha and Kumar Sanu rendered (Paudw)alovely track.

It was penned by the one and only Sameer and composed by Nadeem-Shravan.

Anuradha sang like a dream

Nadeem-Shravan, the suron ke saudagar (Hindi for merchants of melody), composed O Mere Sapnon Ke Saudagar.

It was the shortest of the five songs on the soundtrack of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin on this blog – it was five minutes and as many seconds long.

The track was indeed a perfect blend of rhythm and simple words (penned by none other than Sameer).

And it would not be incorrect to state that the icing on the cake was the rendition by Anuradha Paudwal.

Despite that, it was a song that hasn’t really got its due.

It wasn’t a BAD track

A group of Kolis (fishermen who are the original inhabitants of Mumbai) sang, “Galyat sankhali sonyachi, hee pori konachi”.

It was the first line of a song from Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, and can be translated to, “Whose (daughter) is this girl, who wears a gold chain around her neck?”

It was the longest of the five songs from the film on this blog – it was six minutes and 44 seconds long.

The track, which was penned by Sameer, was composed by Nadeem-Shravan.

It was rendered by Anuradha Paudwal, Babla Mehta and Debashish Dasgupta.

It was melodious and An(uradh)award-winner

The soundtrack of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin featured a couple of versions of its title track.

The version on this blog is the female version, which was rendered by Anuradha Paudwal.

It earned her her second consecutive Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1992.

The other version was a duet, sung by Ms Paudwal and Kumar Sanu.

While the former was six minutes and nine seconds long, the latter, interestingly, was a second shorter.

Both the versions were penned by Faaiz Anwar, who made his debut.

The track was composed by Nadeem-Shravan.

It waSanunderrated track by Anuradha

If there were a poll about the best soundtracks of Nadeem-Shravan's career, there’s no doubt that Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, which released in 1991, would be able to garner a few votes.

It was an unofficial remake of Chori Chori, and its songs are as popular as those of the 1956 film (to which I have dedicated a few posts in my blog about the music of the 1950s).

Adaayein Bhi Hain, which was penned by Sameer, was five minutes and 32 seconds long.

The track was rendered by Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal.
