Alka (Mehn)didn’t match Daler’s energy

It is sad but true that Alka Yagnik, who seemed to be content playing second fiddle to Daler Mehndi, was unable to match the joie de vivre that the latter didn’t have to try too hard to infuse into his rendition.

Having said that, their duet – Kudiyan Shehar Diyan – was the most popular track on the soundtrack of Arjun Pandit, which released in 1999.

Despite the mismatch behind the microphone, the song was, surprisingly, popular, and continues to be the highlight of the film.

Penned by Javed Akhtar, it was composed by Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen.

They (Mehn)didn’t (Bhos)leave anyone disappointed

If Amitabh Bachchan’s comeback to cinema after a five-year hiatus was the cake, the film’s most popular song was the icing.

And by no means would it be incorrect to state that Daler Mehndi's rendition was the cherry on top.

The track in question was Na Na Na Na Na Re, from Mrityudaata, which released in 1997.

Bhosle (Sude)shared singing credits with the King of Bhangra.

It contained a portion of the latter's iconic Dardi Rab Rab Kardi, from the eponymous album (which released in 1996).

Sameer penned the song, which was penned by Anand-Milind.
