Sanu carried the title track

The fact that David Dhawan was inspired by yesteryear’s filmmaker Manmohan Desai was evidenced by Coolie No. 1.

The film didn’t just borrow the title of Desai’s 1983 film, but a line of its title track – “Saare jahaan ka bojh uthaana” – probably reminded the listeners of one of its songs, “Saari Duniya Ka Bojh Hum Uthate Hain.

Both the tracks can be translated to, “We carry the weight of the world.”

The former, which was rendered by Kumar Sanu, was five minutes and 24 seconds long.

Sameer penned the track, which was composed by Anand-Milind.
