There were
seven tracks on the soundtrack of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which
released in 1995 and is India’s longest-running film. It marked the directorial
debut of Aditya Chopra.
Ghar Aaja Pardesi was the longest of those – it was
seven minutes and 32 seconds long.
The song
was penned by Anand Bakshi.
Manpreet
Kaur shared singing credits with Pamela Chopra. The latter is the widow of Yash
Chopra, the producer of the film, and Aditya's mother.
Jatin-Lalit
were nominated in the Best Music Director category at the 41st
Filmfare Awards, which took place in 1996.
