(Lal)It was catchy, but forgettable

In 1995, Pakistani pop singer Abrar-ul-Haq released his debut album, titled Billo De Ghar.

Its title track inspired Mera Dil Le Gayee, from Ziddi.

The latter was penned by Sameer, who changed Billo to Kammo.

Primarily a Hindi song, it had a Punjabi portion.

It was fairly popular at the time of its release. However, it did not have either a long shelf life or high recall value.

(Lal)It wouldn’t be incorrect to state that the track failed to give the career of Mr Sen, who rendered it, a fillip.

Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen Kam(mo)posed it.
