It was a (Ma)likable (Sa)number

Dil Mera Churaya Kyon, from Akele Hum Akele Tum, began with four lines that went, “Why did you break my heart? Why did you fall in love? Why did you go away, away, away, away?

The shortest of the four songs from the film on this blog, it was four minutes and 38 seconds long.

It was inspired by Last Christmas, from the 1984 album Music from the Edge of Heaven by British pop duo Wham!

Anu Malik wasn’t just the composer, but he also shared singing credits with Kumar Sanu.

Majrooh Sultanpuri penned it.
