O-Bla-Di,
O-Bla-Da was a
song from The Beatles’ eponymous album, which released in 1968.
Hindi film music buffs heard the lines in Meri Mehbooba, the romantic number from Pardes.
And given the genre, it wasn’t possible to imagine anyone but Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu rendering the track, which was composed by Nadeem-Shravan.
In fact, Anand Bakshi, who penned it, added, “O-Bla-doo” and “What to do”*, to the aforementioned lines, and the result was mind-blowing.
(*Note: The next time the phrase was heard in the song, it was followed by the phrase, “We Love You”.)
